Now, I can hold a note for a long time...actually I can hold a note forever. But eventually that's just noise. It's the change we're listening for. The note coming after, and the one after that. That's what makes it music.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

The Office is probably the first situation tragedy. It's brilliant, but at points unwatchable - not because it's cruel, but because it's so incredibly accurate.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

This I can believe - and what an exquisite way of putting it.

Wow. I've been wanting to but haven't had a chance to catch The Office on BBCAmerica. I'll try harder.

Ficht nicht mit Der Raketemensch!

A lot of it is very UK-specific - what anyone outside Britain will make of a line like "Look at him! He looks like a Fisher-Price man!" is anyones guess. But it's worth seeing.

Roguish Laird

Isn't Fisher Price an international brand? Or is the reference not to the toy company?

Anyway, I've just seen the first episode of Season 7 and am still gasping. HOLY SHIT!!! So glad I wasn't spoiled for that ending.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Fisher-Price is a well-known brand of kids and toddler toys here -- actually I'm surprised that you know it, because I'd thought they were American-only.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

An idea of Fisher Price's international operations can be found here. Mostly Europe and North America, Australia too.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

AMEN to that! After all those hoots and woohooes, my neighbours must now be convinced I'm a psychotic.

Of course, my absolute delight at what must rank as the best opening ep ever, is tempered by the sheer frustration at what we missed!!!!! I swear to fucking Gob that Channel 7 Australia is the big fucking bad of this season. 39 fucking minutes (including at least a combined total of 20 seconds of commercials before hitting the pause button)!!! What the fuck is all that about Channel 7?!?!

Strawberry disappointment.

The Office is simply the best comeedy (tragedy?) on TV. If you get a chance watch it. It's utterly brilliant. And David Brandt is the best comic creation since Basil Fawlty. In fact he's probably better.

Just make sure you have a cushion to hide behind.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

The Office is also out on DVD (or will be shortly in Australia).
