Changing the subject entirely, does anyone know what a good price would be for a NYC-Dublin round trip ticket in June? The best I'm finding now is $460, but I feel like I should be able to do much better than that.

And, I just realized that I have no idea what the BP logo looks like. So I guess I'm no good as a test for "what do you associate those colors with?"
Actually, I understand even better refusing protection to Petrobras having seen the bp mark; color is all that's distinctive about it.
They've never had much of a presence in the U.S., though I've been noticing some advertising recently.

Interestingly, I saw a BP station this weekend in the Poconos. Not that common, they don't appear to be very big in the Philadelphia region.

Interesting logic. The less distinctive your trademark is, the more possiblities you can exclude for your competitor. I think I'm going trademark the color black.
BP became very common in the Seattle area about a decade ago, and last year vanished in a flurry of rebranding to become Exxon again. I think. I know it was Exxon that switched to BP.
It's hard to keep track.
That green and yellow flowery starburst thing? I don't think it's a terribly memorable logo to begin with. You're right, the colors are really the only distinctive thing about it.
And I've given myself a craving for pizza. Is it wrong that the fact that I can get real pizza at home is a major factor in my decision-making process over whether to go home for mardi gras break?

IMO, this is much more distinctive than their previous logo, a simple green shield with 'BP' in gold letters. (I actually quite liked their old logo, but distinctive isn't the word for it.)
I'd imagine the new one is supposed to evoke thoughts of environmental friendliness and whatnot. (Incidentally, I'm now wondering whether sales of BP's product rise at all when Brazil wins the World Cup.)
Wow, I don't visit the board for a couple of days and have to wade through 200+ posts.
