What's the rating of the US disc?
In the US, most DVDs carry the rating of the movie when it was in theaters (in this case, PG-13), and just say something to the effect "supplementary material not rated".
Discussion of episodes currently airing in Un-American locations (anything that's aired in Australia is fair game), as well as anything else the Un-Americans feel like talking about or we feel like asking them. Please use the show discussion threads for any current-season discussion.

Question for those Yanks (or others) who have the R1 Buffy DVDs. What is the average length of the episodes? Are they all under 43 minutes?
I am reading through the old threads archived on TT and I came across this line from Dr Satan relating to "Goodbye Iowa":
We didn't actually see him do it, but Adam skewered the kid (we saw the spine come out) and then mutilated him.
We definitely did not see "the spine come out". All we saw was Adam look at his skewer-arm, then the kid, then we cut to a scene of Riley walking -- which is the same thing we saw on the broadcast version. So now I'm trying to figure out how much footage the R4 versions are missing and whether it is worth getting rid of them and getting the R1 copies in their place. I've already decided to give the R4 Farscape DVDs a miss b/c the R1 versions are better. Moreover, there are a few dozen movies where I'll be getting the R1 version instead of the R4 -- mostly b/c they're either longer, or the disc(s) have more extras.
Oh and in case anyone thinks I'm A) nuts; B) made of money; or C) both; getting them from Amazon.ca, or better yet, [link] (another Canadian site with the shipping already factored into the price) means I'm paying about the same price I'd pay over here but in most cases, for a better disc. For example, check out the Dark City disc, or The Princess Bride. The Collectors Edition of the latter hasn't even been released over here.
Jimi--thanks for that link. One for the bookmarks!
In case anyone hasn't caught up with this, according to The Age yesterday, Buffy Season 7 will be starting in Australia on Feb. 11. (No word on Angel.)
Angus, did you see that I got your CD and was playing it at my office? (On nice headphones, so as to be polite to the other workers!) It's a nice break from the steady stream of vintage music that I otherwise soak myself in.
Connie--excellent, glad it arrived in one piece.
Anyway, some of it is vintage music! It goes back as far as 1990, for heaven's sake! In dance music terms, that's like the baroque period.
Does anyone else find the title of this thread slightly offensive? Because I do.
Zoe, it's from BtVS season 5 episode, "Tough Love" quote:
ANYA: Well, that's right, foreigner. So I've been reading a lot about the good ol' us of A (she says "us" not "U.S."), embracing the extraordinarily precious ideology that's helped to shape and define it.
WILLOW: Democracy?
ANYA: Capitalism. The free market depends on the profitable exchange of goods for currency. It's a system of symbiotic beauty apparently lost on these old people. Look at 'em. Perusing the shelves. Undressing the merchandise with their eyeballs all ogle, no cash. It's not just annoying, it's unAmerican.
Anya has both context and better delivery.
And it was suggested as a thread title by an Unamerican, I'm pretty sure, if that helps, Zoe.
