"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Watched Coupling last night where the female lead expressed a fondness for Austrailians and thought of our Aussie men.

Hi Plasmo!

Fiona, I don't think you need to be cautious, per se.

Hmm, it didn't come out right. I just don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed by Firefly, but as it seems to have got a pretty mixed reception, I hope to be open-minded about it, which is probably the best way to be.

Now, how about that Angel...?

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Oh, that ep was hysterical. ...Well, they generally are, really.

Hi Plasmo!

I know Plasmo in real life too. (At least I think I do...)

Fiona, when will you get Firefly ? I suspect by that time you'll have been able to glean which direction the show goes from here.

I enjoyed the first few minutes but got called away to deal with a long-distance medical emergency and spent the rest of the hour trying to call insurance companies so I can't say much about this episode.

Are free-floating quotes ok for this thread? Or do we want to keep it completely dark on specifics?

I think completely dark on specifics is good for this particular thread, bt. If the hardcore spoilers thread is for extreme spoiler whores, I think this thread is the one for extreme spoilerphobes.

Fiona, when will you get Firefly ?

In a couple of weeks, thanks to my amazing tape fairy.

I don't think it will get picked up by foreign markets unless it's shown to be a potential success with a couple of seasons life in it. If Fox kills it early on it will be a North America-only phenomenon.

Sorry about your medical emergency, brenda. I hope things got sorted out.

Eh, sort of. The insurance anyway. We're still waiting to hear how bad it is. Long story short - my sister, the violinist, broke her finger playing football. It remains to be seen how big a disaster this will prove to be.
