The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

And Anne -- you CSI shipper, you.

Heh. More like an anti-shipper, I fear.

Hrm. I will percolate.

For ita. Angel/Roswell.

Darla cursed as the wind blew sand in her face. She hated deserts. She hated being hungry.

There. A figure leaning against the wall outside the diner, cigarette hanging from beautiful young lips.

"Shit! Agent Topolski?" The cigarette fell to the ground.

Simon Tam had never really had the opportunity to learn how to talk to girls, but the way that she looked at him was intoxicating.

"Hello, pretty," she said, smiling, and her accent was difficult to place. She was dressed in the height of fashion, as incongruous in this rough cantina as Simon was himself.

He smiled back, entranced.

"Simon," he said, kissing her offered hand. She laughed.

"Drusilla."

"But before you went through the portal - did you read anything weird out loud?"

"It wasn't a portal ... I followed it down a hole in the ground, like ..."

"Sure. Hole. Tesseract ... spatial transfiguration ... wormhole ... they're all semantic representations of the same principle. The key is triggering them ... there must have been some sort of formula ... maybe, if it wasn't you, someone else recited something - portals don't just open by themselves, even if it sometimes ..."

She paused, uncharacteristically, and stared into the little girl's wide eyes.

"The name's Alice, right?" asked Fred.
