Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

And, just like that, Scola goes to the Dark Side.

Well, the Dark Side is rather pretty....

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So, why does Apple think it is a good concept to have a non-removable battery? Does anyone have information about this?

It kind of drives me crazy in the ipod and I think it is a BAD IDEA for the laptop. Carrying around an extra battery for my MacBook Pro has saved my bacon any number of times.

Hey. New board.

So, why does Apple think it is a good concept to have a non-removable battery?

60% increase in battery life without getting any thicker or heavier.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

According to the keynote, making it non-removable was the trade-off for the 8 hour battery life.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I'm a pretty serious power user, I've owned easily a dozen Mac Laptops, from the 145b up to my current. I have only had spare batteries on the very earliest models. On the past half a dozen machines I've never removed the battery. I suspect that my behavior is close to the norm for most users. The removable battery seems like a nice thing, but most people never ever use it.

Also, those bastards want me to pay an additional $50 for a matte display. Either way I'll probably be preordering shortly.

Am loving iTunes going DRM-free.
