I foresee a gizmo that has a maglock connection, and a rechargeable battery brick to it.
Am loving iTunes going DRM-free.
I assume that doesn't apply to what one has already purchased, or does it?
The removable battery seems like a nice thing, but most people never ever use it.
I would say that 90% of the times I've removed the battery from my laptops it's been to crash it when it's frozen or otherwise fucked. I understand that that's not such an issue for the Mac users among us. But never?
brenda, holding down the power button on a laptop for about 5-10 seconds kills the power completely, so you shouldn't need to take the battery out. Of course, I'm open to corrections.
megan, nah. Apparently for a small charge you can redownload the songs with DRM removed.
I've had my current iBook for 9 years now, and I don't think I've ever taken the battery out. The computer's getting a tad wonky now, but after 9 years of steady use and abuse I'm amazed it still turns on.
I'm with Brenda - sometimes the power button does not work and I've had to pull out the battery.
re: LJ download for archiving:
I am on a mac, so I downloaded ljdump, I get a folder with three things in it on my desktop:
ChangeLog ljdump.config.sample ljdump.py
what do I do?
yeah, I have that, I don't know what that means.
