I would just isolate and replace the fan.
According to some page on the Internet, I can do that by sticking something into the blades of each fan for a second to see if the noise stops? That's safe?
Typically it's like a $5.00 part.
Is there anything special to consider? I like this one. For fun. Or there are these cheaper ones. I guess I have to see what size the fan is. Do all fans have the ribbon connectors? I guess they need to get the power to run from somewhere.

Yeah, the fans have very little torque. You could probably even use your finger, though a pencil is less scary.
