I'm not so keen on that. It seems to negate all the coolness of her character as Oracle, all her suffering and rising-above and establishing herself etc. And for what? So they can tack her name onto Batgirl again? And if they're doing it just to have the Joker cripple her again, that seems weirder and more horrible somehow, like she's in some purgatory constantly re-experiencing that trauma.
Also, one less really cool disabled character.
I'm not really seeing the positives.
Oh, fuck no. I really like paraplegic Barbara. Like, really really. Do you have a link to that and any other mistakes they might be making?
The news is only trickling out. There are lots of mistakes to come over the next few weeks.
I loved Babs as batgirl, I really did. but I

her as Oracle, and if DC thinks they can take that whole history away and keep any respect from me, they can suck it.
Yeah, that just - well, it's wrong!
Oracle just rocks and I agree - I loved Barbara Gordon as Batgirl but I love it more when that's her past history that informs who she is as Oracle.
I don't understand why DC doesn't just pull a Marvel and make their equivalent of the "Ultimate" Universe. You can do your "young/hip/modern/what-ever-buzzword you use now" revamp of your iconic characters for the folks that are into that, while not pissing off all your existing fans and tossing out decades worth of development of these characters.
Or does that just make too much sense for DC?
If Barbara is going to be Batgirl again, are they reverting Dick to Robin?

Wow, that would be what I call a case of shrinkage.
If Barbara is going to be Batgirl again, are they reverting Dick to Robin?
They will be running a Nightwing comic, so that's unlikely.

Huh. That's kind of weird that'd revert one but not the other, though I guess Barbara was Batgirl more recently than Dick was Robin.
