"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I wonder if Joss wanted to check if anyone is actually still reading, and so greenlighted this trainwreck? While Buffy has made me laugh many times, I don't recall being compelled to point first on previous occasions.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm holding out hope that Twilight isn't really Angel, and something else is going on. But at this point it's a dim hope, which is really too bad.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just finished Transmetropolitan. I loved it!

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

So the Young Justice cartoon is official: [link]

Greg Weisman being onboard gives me a lot of hope for the series, but I'm mourning the demise of Spectacular Spider-man (I hadn't realized it was cancelled until I saw Weisman was attached to this and went digging.)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Is that Clark or Connor?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm guessing Kon, based on the clothes, and since it said that the Robin, Superboy, and Kid Flash are the 3 from Peter David's original series.

And now I need to re-read YJ.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

And now I need to re-read YJ.

Never a bad thing!

I've never read YJ, but trying to find the trades on Amazon is a mess. I can't really tell what the order is, and at least some of them appear to be out of print. Is there a better place to look?

ETA: Nevermind. I at least found a way to read them.

Reading Young Justice. The only work of Peter David's previous to this was his Star Trek novels, which I'm a fan of.

I'm enjoying YJ, but I think PAD does a better job meshing the humor and the serious in novel form (or maybe the structure of the Star Trek universe keeps from getting a little too carried away. He sure loves his puns, though.)

Impulse is awesome, and I like Robin, but I could take or leave the other characters at the moment. (Also, as unimpressed as I was with Superboy's recent costume "He wear's a black Superman tee and jeans? Seriously?" it's light years better than his YJ getup. Yikes. Also not digging Wonder Girl's costume, but I accept her explanation for not wanting to wear the "real" costume.)

All in all, I'm having a good time with it, though I just finished the "Gun Control" issue and ugh. I mean, I'm a liberal weenie and I was still reading it thinking "Okay, guns are bad. We get it. Shut up already!" It marred what otherwise would have been an excellent story.

ETA: I did really like Kon's baseball speech at the end of the issue. It was a nice little "you're my friend/I trust you to do the right thing" bit without being preachy.
