"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Jack Burton would work a lot better with a group than Snake.

As opposed to Mr. Hyde? Or even Capt. Nemo? I was going with Alan Moore's dysfunctional group dynamics.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Eh, maybe he's just too Wolverine-ish for my taste. Plus, Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorite movies.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

In retrospect, I think the problem with Snake is that the "Escape From ..." movies are set in the future, and the logic of the "League" is that the fictional characters all exist when they're set. (The exception being the stuff from Orwell's "1984" in "Black Dossier," which Moore took back to its original roots -- it was the publisher who wanted to push the story out a few deacdes into the future.)

I can't argue with that. At all. Though the music video was a crime against nature.

I can't argue with that either, which is why (subconsciously) I added MacReady. And, of course, Ash.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think I'd replace all of them with characters from UK shows, personally.

My pedantic tag. It does not close.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm reading Transmetropolitan. Spider Jerusalem started out a giant dickweed, but I'm not sure whether Ellis changed the way he was writing him or what, but ever since the presidential campaign storyline started, he's been a giant dickweed I can root for.

I think it just took a while for me to really see how shitty the City really is and that his hate is pretty justified, so it's less over-the-top than it seems in the beginning. Also, having Channon and Yelena around to balance him out helps.
