Jesse--did you ever send me that "what poker players do you have?" email?
I did not! Now I will.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Frak! When did we get a new thread? I haven't finished the old one yet!
I'm 50 and I'm still working on the growing up thing. I still don't have a career, but I do have a useless Masters Degree. I'm still paying the student loans on it. I own one cereal bowl, one soup bowl, one large, medium and small plate. I have to wash something if I want to use something. Only way I do dishes.
I don't know how to manage money. And I don't know where to get help.
I need a better job, to make grown up money, but don't know how to write a resume and cover letter.
When does the adulthood start?
Kristin, how is the new school?
skipping krav, ita? whoa! Also, friday AM might be better because I'm finding afternoons to be a little roogey.
I can't answer the last question, but the nice people here could probably tell you where to find money managing help. Unfortunately, that's not me, as I have a luddite's manner of managing money that I don't really recommend in this day and age. At least I'm not stuffing it in my mattress...
True story: Sometime after my mom's parents' had their first kid of 6, the farmhouse burned down. Grandpa nearly had a stroke. All their money was in an old fur coat in the house!!! - This was the Depression.- Except Grandma had decided to air out the winter coats in the chicken coop (um, why this constitutes an airing, I still don't get.) So the money didn't burn. They lived in the chicken coop until the new house was built. The new house still stands, though my uncle built a new new house 5 years or so ago. The new new house is fantastic, but I'll always love the old farmhouse and its stories.
Kat, it's amazing. A true bright spot in my life; I love it there.
How is school(s) going for you?
I am proud to say that I made it to the grocery store today. Now I have chocolate and beer and fresh fruit and veg.
And tofu. It doesn't take very much tofu to make pad thai, which is what I had for dinner. What the hell do I make with the rest of this tofu?
House: I'm so glad that the costume folks have remembered that Hugh Laurie looks really really good in a vintage t-shirt and worn jeans.
I really like the way The Unit tells a story. Maybe I'm a sucker, but I do.
glad things are good!
I am enjoying my course load this year and my students are interesting. But I've been sick off and on and am missing a lot of school (when I finally go back, I'll have been out for 2 weeks) so my kids are all adrift.
Grad school? oof. Victorian lit, while easier than Chaucer, not my bag. And Chaucer in Middle English just makes me feel stupid.
Man, now I'm totally sucked into that damn Funny Farm thing, and don't feel like going to bed, and will watch Nip/Tuck, even though I have to get up early tomorrow! I am Teh Lame.
