I didn't get to hit anyone. I left a little late because the test-giver and one of the test-takers [small break taken to call another test-taker] were giving me their versions. Apparently only two of them were in any shape to put fighting gear on.
ANYWAY, just about the whole mall was closed by the time I got there. I got a backup pair of white sandals from Robinsons May, and stood at the entrance to Nordstrom and describe my category of shoe (thank you, Zappos, for giving me a rigourous set of metadata), and the lady shrugged and named some brand that made her wince. So I added "pretty!" to the search criteria, and she came up empty. Which wasn't surprising, since Robinson's May only had two, and they weren't even that pretty.
But everyone was nice, so no excuse to hit.
Okay. Time for pork chop.
Allyson--fire it on over.
It's still pouring here. Supposedly 3 inches tonight.
Allyson, got it. Whee!
I'll look up my hs stats tomorrow (too lazy, oh god too lazy with google?) tonight. But I'd be shocked if it turns up anything less than majority hispanic. When I was in elementary, I got all offended when some girl called me gringa. Dude! I was so not.... oh. I really hadn't thought myself at all different from my peers, other than I was a nerd. I really suspect I didn't know that I was anything but hispanic until fairly late. It wasn't an issue. I do know that my standard of beauty is biased towards hispanic- dark hair, eyes, skin. When I moved to NC for school, I felt really out of place until I realized my issue was there were so many white people. Black/afam didn't ping me, it was somewhat foreign (my part of NM, until recently, had very very few so I sort of was conscious of that aspect.) I just didn't expect so few hispanics!
We've had so much rain the past weekend, the froggies and toads have come out. I go outside and I hear the wheeerk?wheeerk?
In NM, everytime it rained, there was a cacophony of toad singing. It makes me happy. Go wee froggie! Procreate!
Also? My bed is so sexy. Dev was clawing at my sheets on the corners, which, being $70 sheets, annoyed me. So I carved up a box and coated the pieces in foil and shoved them over the corners. It crinkles. Ah well, it should cure her.
I decided I couldn't deal with the cats for a little while, so I am locked into the guest room, Perkins is locked into my bedroom, and Ozzie has the rest of the house.
I'm getting stuff done, at least.
Two more krav calls. I should really get a life, but I don't know where they're kept.
NOW the pork chops. With a mushroom stuffing.
OMG! THAT is where I know Diane Farr from!!!
Me too! I couldn't figure out why she looked so familiar when she joined Numb3rs.
