Can't any one of your damn little Scooby club at least try to remember that I hate you all?

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

ImememeN, my mother just emailed to say they broke my sister-in-law's water on Friday, but nothing happened so they sent her home. Huh? I thought there was a risk of infection after 24 hours, not to mention the poor baby rattling around in there with no cushion. Weird. She's not even due till June 2, so I don't know why they broke her water in the first place.

I hope everything goes well for your SiL, AmyLiz. Her body should be making more amniotic fluid, so the baby will still have a cushion, just one that is constantly draining. I also thought the risk of infection was high and that you HAD to have the baby by any means within 24 hours if your water breaks.

My IUD was 100% covered, except for the office co-pay--which makes it cheaper than BC pills for me.

she replied with, "Well, in cases of women who've not given birth, it can slip out." I didn't know what to say to that, really, except think on "I cannot wait until I get a real doctor."

Um, it can slip out with women who've HAD kids. You're just supposed to check regularly to see if you can still feel the cords or call the doc if you feel it's gone walkabout on your insides.

There are risks with EVERY form of BC. There are risks with having kids, too for that matter. Docs should let women be grownups and decide for themselves which risk they'd like to take.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

my doctor's thing was, why be exposed to the risks when the Nuva Ring works fine without them?

Well, hormone stuff, for one.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Yeah, I'd way rather go the IUD route and avoid the hormones. I don't want to risk anything interacting with my BiP meds. Even though they don't, I'd rather the amount of chemicals in my body remain as few as possible.

What with the crack-smoking and all.

Because books.

And that's my issue, right there. No one will prescribe the pill or Nuva Ring or any of that stuff to me (not that I'd want them, too) because I'm over 35, a smoker, and I have diabetes (which can lead to risk of heart disease). So my options are pretty limited.

Although having Stephen get a vasectomy looks better and better some days.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Exactly.

I mean, frankly, I'd rather get my tubes tied. I know it's more risky than an IUD, but I don't want kids, and I don't want to risk getting pregnant. But finding a doctor that would sign off on it for someone my age and covering the cost is just too much stress for me right now.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Although having Stephen get a vasectomy looks better and better some days.

Y'know, if he's willing, that does sound like your best bet.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

(there! I said it! MY BIRTHDAY APPROACHETH!!!),

I was wondering when you'd start your yearly campaign!!! (I love it, by the way.)

Thrive to spite them

On the 29th I have an appointment with the endrochronologist to talk about birth control for the PCOS stuff (my non existent periods and stupid hair in unwanted places), I have no idea what my choices will be but I hope it's something other than the Pill. I'm terrible about remembering to take it at the right time.

I'm getting the pig!

I only have three weeks to shop for Tep's birthday present?!?

What happened to the 90 day reminder, dammit?

I was wondering when you'd start your yearly campaign!!! (I love it, by the way.)

Me too.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

June 23, if memory serves me correctly.
