Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

P-C, is your profile email addy (umich.edu) still correct, or is there a better one I should know about and don't?

Also, what everyone else said, but especially beth and Teppy and Cindy, of whose spicy and very wise brains I am utterly in awe.
So, yay, and blah. Need a new exercise plan of attack. Yoga and belly dancing, perhaps.
Yoga! I'm way into it right now and it certainly helps my energy levels (what also would help would be getting more sleep but I'm really bad at that).
Also, I just started doing accupuncture too and I don't understand it or know what i'm going to get out of it exactly but I do have a friend who did a course of accupuncture to treat problems she was having with exhaustion. And she says it helped her tremendously. (And I know some insurance plans pay for accupuncture at least partially.)

JZ, he was still receiving and sending from there as of this past weekend.
Is everything okay with him and his parents now?
He's on his third wife (and I think he's gotten his past two wives pregnant, but maybe it was just one), and his dad is dead. I think things are as okay as they could be.

It is correct. I am too change-averse to switch over to Gmail right now.

You and me both. Random note: I was thinking of you yesterday and how you are pretty and look good in hats.
Nora - when they checked for anemia, did they specifically check both your hemoglobin level and your iron level? If only one is out of whack it can still cause severe fatigue.
Sophia - When my cat scratched and bit me, my doc sent me to the emergency room, even though the wounds themselves weren't too bad. It was explained to me that the ER is better set-up for wound care than your basic doctor's office, plus there is that added fun of a tetanus shot. Joy!
Raq - glad to hear you got home safe. Did the cap fit Mal?
P-C - I have no advise, but lots of love.
Bev - Tooth~ma and dentist~ma.
I skipped and skimmed - so if I missed anyone else, here is some extra {{{{}}}} and a bunch of glitter.
Now, for mememe news, or actually news of my sprog - K-Bug's softball team took first place in their tournament over the weekend. It was a hard fought battle. They have now qualified for the "Triple Crown World Series" in Park City, Utah. The championship game from that tournament is going to be televised (probably on their local station or something, but still - cool).
Nora you should definitly try belly dancing!
I'm not implying that they're a cure-all, or the answer for every vague symptom cluster. It's just that when my doctor diagnosed me with depression, we did the same thing -- all the blood tests came back normal, etc., etc. So my doctor suggested that exhaustion of unspecified causation could very well be indicative of depression.
Yeah, I'm thinking this is the next step, but we didn't talk about it during the last visit, so I don't know if that's occured to her. I hate self-diagnosing with the doctor, but sometimes it's like that's the only way shit gets done.
Also, this doctor won't prescibe a IUD for me because I'm "too young" to be exposed to the completly TINY potential side effect of infertility. Which a) The IUDs on the market today are not really so much with the sterility side effects and b) uh, MY CHOICE.
So, I don't know if I need a new doctor or what. we'll see how it goes. I should probably try to get in there for a follow up before August (which is when my annual is)
Anyway, that's rambly. But the upshot is: yes, I've considered ADs and no, my doctor hasn't brought it up as an option yet.
Edited to make Jessica look looney tunes.
Also, this doctor won't prescibe a UTI for me
If this weren't a typo, I'd be on his side...
Nora--my doc precribed Laxapro for anxiety, which in my case manifested itself with no real symptoms other than restless sleep, which manifested itself in--yes, exhaustion. Now I sleep better and have more energy during the day. It's wonderful.
catching up ...
Beverly, good luck with the tooth!
Sophia, do go to a doctor. I had a cat bite at the end of April and within 12 hours it was infected. The doctor explained that cats' teeth are small but sharp and push assorted ickies in deep. Best wishes for your health and a not-unhappy ending for the cat.
And welcome Margaret T.
