Spike's Bitches 30: Going on Thirteen

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm watching Here Comes the Groom for something like the eighth time. (TCM seems to show it at least once a month, and I've got my Tivo set to record all musicals, so it always grabs it.) I don't think I've ever seen the end of this movie -- I always either fall asleep or wander away somewhere in the middle. I'm sure I know what happens at the end, but I'm wondering if I'll stay awake long enough to actually see it this time. (I haven't been sleeping too well lately.)

On House: Did my DVR cut the show off early or did the show end with House being rushed into surgery?

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I am! And sort of following along everything dazedly.

I just realized I was pulling a Piglet.

"Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."

I just wanted to be sure of all of you. Thanks.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'm trying to pretend I'm not here as I am in desperate need of sleep. To help one of the overnight staff at the group home I've been training at, I'm going in at 5am this morning. I went in at 5am yesterday morning to learn the routine for getting the residents up and ready for the day, leaving at 7am. Had to be back for another shift this afternoon from 2pm-9pm. My body clock does NOT shut down for sleep until about 2am, at which point yesterday, I was too afraid that if I did fall asleep I would not wake up on time to get to work. I took some diphenhydramine yesterday morning, which helped me to get all of 3 1/2 hours of sleep in between. Tonight I took more, and went to bed at quarter after ten. So basically I have no reason to believe I will be getting any more sleep.

Can I be dead now, please?

Ok, I'm going to drink a glass of water, imbue a tissue with insomnia-relieving essential oils, listen to a 30 min. guided meditation (cuz the 15 min one didn't do the trick earlier) and try again.

Hope everyone else is getting the rest you need.
