Maria! Thank you!
My hubby is kinda hot, isn't he? Hee.
But of course! Not as hot as his wife, mind you.
Yeah, that's it. Artistic. Yeah.
Peev: just a letter away from Perv.
(Hi, My name is Pot. You're Kettle? Nice to meet you.)
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

(Hi, My name is Pot. You're Kettle? Nice to meet you.)It's not as much fun when you say it first... Still amusing, mind you. Just lacks the fun a friendly snark has.
Guy maddin's very short The Heart Of The World.
I liked. Thanks for the link!
Huh. I didn't know there was a new Dita book. Looks like I just found the DH's Father's Day present.
So, this seems like the place to ask...what does one wear with a corset when out and about? I have no corsets for street wear. I have one that I wear as the top with a couple of my business suits. Long skirt, short skirt, what shape of skirt?
When I see other women wearing corsets, I've never managed to notice what else they were wearing.
I don't know what a "street wear" corset is. Of course, I'm one who believes there's no such thing as being overdressed. Heh. I own two. A black brocade one I had made by Meschantes and a red dupioni one I made myself (which can be seen in the gig pictures with its snap-on Wonder Woman aegis). I wear the black one over skirts and even over loose black cotton slacks at times. I have long full skirts, but I've also worn it over a black lamé velvet showgirl bustle. As long as you feel it looks good with whatever you pick, wear it. Who gives a fuck what people think about it? Unless you're wearing it at work. Then there's an economic reason to care.
Spidra, you made a corset? Wow. I'm lucky I can make my bed.
Go Nora! Go Nora! Go Nora! I SO knew you could do it!
Maria!!!!!!!
Today will be better. Today will be better. Today will be better. I'm just gonna keep repeating that till it's true.
Things have been sucky, but I've kind of had a bad attitude. Gonna try to fix that starting with, well, last night. Time to plug ahead and start making plans again and get my ass off the couch. Today I clean the disgusting bathroom and do laundry and go to therapy. Sounds like a plan, right?
vw, how's your mom? Is she home and everything? I know they won't have the biopsy results right away, but did they give her any sort of inkling?
What Cindy said. I made one of my prom dresses with boning, and that was enough of a pain.
By "street wear" I meant "corset that covers nipples" or "corset that doesn't clearly look like a foundation garment." I have one that's red with black trim and lacing, and if you can't see it all at once, it looks great. If you can see it all at once, it looks like a cheap piece of underwear. But it looks good as the shirt with a black skirt and jacket.
I wasn't asking from a "what will people think" position, but more from a proportion/design position. I don't normally wear tops that zing in my waist and thereby emphasize my hips, so I'm wondering if the bottoms should counteract the hip emphasis or go with it.
She's ok. I talked to her last night, and she sounded tired, but she was working on her quilt, so she was doing ok.
There actually was a bit of drama. She had had an MRI done that was supposed to help with the biopsy. It was done at a different hospital, and it didn't make it before the biopsy. So, they almost rescheduled it, which would have frustrated her muchly. Her surgeon stepped in, though, and made it happen.
Apparently, the surgeon was pleased with the samples they got, so that's good. I think she's encouraged.
