Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

If 11% is all his minions could come up with -- because you know they spammed all of their email lists -- I think that's OK.

Talked to yet another person about the job I want, and I'm apparently the only one she's talked to. Right the fuck on, man!

Ann, that's a ferret.

When "Not Sure" gets a higher vote than "Yes" -- and both combined get 1/3 of the vote that "No" does -- I think it's safe to say Robertson has low credibility.

Especially since it's likely that some measurable percentage may have voted other than "Yes" just out of mischief.

hip deep in pie

I just had a phone interview that turned out to be a 30 minute, whittle the field down kind of interview. Phone interviews are weird. I'm sure I said "um" and "you know" way more than I would have in a F2F interview.

Punishingly Intricate

man I was trying to stay unspoiled for the ANTM finale because the group I watch it with can't get together until next week but I think the stupid front page of Salon ruined it for me! I knew the internets would do this!

Yeah, I hate them. I always feel like an inarticulate jackass. Hope you did better than you think!

Where are my parents? OK, they aren't supposed to be here in the NYC until 3-ish, but I wish they would call! I guess I could call them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If a joke just isn't all that funny, does it still get to be called a joke?

Guy #1 said it was a joke, and that he couldn't tell me. Guy #2 grimaced and said he'd heard it, been grossed out, and forgot it. Because I am charming and persuasive, Guy #2 agreed to go back to #1 and pass the joke on to me. And then there was the herpes frog thing.

I like phone interviews. All of mine have gone very well, even those I chose not to pursue (there's a company that will no longer consider me for any position because I did so well on the phone interview, but turned them down (the position they described in the 2nd interview was not the position *I* responded to, and it wasn't one I wanted)). I actually enjoy them for their own sake.

No lunch break today. Will need to sneak a nap somewhere.

Thank you, JZ. Not just for the soap, but for considering the Perkins threat.

I think you need a full nap weekend.

Maybe sometime right after never. Though I should probably have Memorial day off both day job and krav. Sadly my reflex response to that is "Kettlebell!"

My adductors hurt this morning. Not sure how that happened.

And FUCK I forgot my migraine abortives in my gym bag. I need a live-in nanny, I swear.

Off to heat up lunch.
