Now tagless for your comfort.

Because we're going to need a new generation of liberals to fight this sort of thing, that's why!

Yes. My wee liberal army is nearly ready.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

From cnn.com: (this gets the "no duh" award - at least the first sentence)...

Presidential adviser Karl Rove blamed the war in Iraq on Monday for dragging down President Bush's job approval ratings in public opinion polls. "People like this president," Rove said. "They're just sour right now on the war."

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yes. My wee liberal army is nearly ready.

Hey, you bring all our wee ones together and it might work.

But seriously? I'm thinking the time has come for the new liberal militia. My theory is that conservatives won't take liberal concerns seriously until liberals have as much firepower as they have. And I know lots of lefties who own guns and are able to use them responsibly. (Okay, so I'm not one of them, but I'd be willing to go to a shooting range and learn how to handle one.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Dry ground has reappeared in the basement, and I feel like Noah seeing a dove carrying a twig in its beak. Still a long way to go, but hopeful-ish.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

My basement flooded a couple of years ago...I got a space heater and a dehumidifier to dry out the basement after I sucked all the water out. It took me hours to get all the water up, btw.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Stoopid war, making our Dear Leader look bad...

Britain prevails, Leader.

I've probably spent at least three hours of doing nothing but sucking up the water as full as the vac will take, dumping it into the sink, and repeat. But at least I can listen to NPR shows on my iPod, and contemplate how much I want to spend on an automated sump pump.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I got a new sump pump (mine failed - thus the basement problem) and while it is working diligently, apparently there is no way of knowing when the damn thing will fail again. I will probably replace it as a matter of course later this year (they only have 1 year warranties) but if the electricity goes out for a long period of time, I will still be screwed. So I am investigating a power backup for it.
