The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I can do that.

In a few minutes, at least.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cool! Love the help.

And now, off to sleep. Promised myself I'd be in bed before 11. Nothing like running close to the wire.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Oh, god. Electrickery, and there was something like tellybone--was that Jon Pertwee?

No, Pertwee was the similarly-decrepit Worzel Gummidge. Imdb gives Geoffrey Bayldon as the actor playing Catweazle. And apparently he also appeared on Worzel Gummidge, not to mention Doctor Who and the Creature from the Pit as a slightly cracked astrologer.

ETA: that's right, I think he called it the telling bone. Made sense in its own way.

Catweazle is out on DVD, Region 2 at least.

That just seems wrong somehow.

What is even happening?

This conversation made me blink really hard. The internet friends I expect to have this discussion are on one of the other internets.

Is Point Magoo a real place?
aha... Mugu. I swear it sounded like they were saying Magoo on 24.

It sounded so much like "Magoo" I figured there was a "Magoo" typo snafu at the Closed Captioning service. Is there a real Point Mugu?

Also re: 24 Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh frickin' Miles had a frickin' tape degausser. Nooooooooo.

From the 24 preview for next week:

Good darned thing Aaron is alive, but whoever bloodied is wonderful Aarony face like must pay. Oh yes they must. Is Jack ever going to be able to crack Henderson? It's just stressful.

I'm living near where Worzel Gummage was set, and there's a life-size Worzel in my local pub's window. There's an Aunt Sally's cafe just a bit down the road too.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Also re: 24

What I want to know is what the hell Chloe was doing with the tape that wouldn't involve, you know, actually playing the frelling tape. I'm actually more upset that if Miles had waited 2 more minutes to call Logan, we wouldn't have Logan to kick around any more. I figured with 3 more hours it probably wasn't going to happen; although we've still got the Blue Tooth Group to deal with.

I don't know what Logan thinks keeping Aaron alive is going to accomplish. I'm happy that he's not dead, but it smacks of Dr. Evil type planning.

President Bush arrived here Monday to face an awkward political situation about which his brother is mincing no words: the candidacy of Representative Katherine Harris for the United States Senate.

White House aides said Ms. Harris, a Florida Republican, would be on hand to greet Mr. Bush when he landed in Tampa on Tuesday morning en route to a talk about the new Medicare prescription drug benefit.

But on Monday the president's brother, Gov. Jeb Bush, raised new doubts about Ms. Harris's ability to unseat Senator Bill Nelson, a Democrat, in the fall election.

"I just don't think she can win," Governor Bush told reporters. "It's just that's she's not gained any traction, and it seems that, unfortunately through no fault of her own perhaps, the press coverage is all about the problems in her campaign."

Some Republicans have expressed worries that Ms. Harris, who became nationally known while overseeing the presidential recount of 2000 as secretary of state in Florida, remains a polarizing figure and could galvanize Democrats to vote against her.

It just delights me that the Republicans have abandoned her. Hee.
