I thought I was the only person in the world who disliked the prevalence of melon in fruit salad! But I am not. Yay.

Ugh, I hate melon.
I like melon too!
You know what is really gross, though? Discovering the chunk of melon you just bit into is starting to turn. It's like the melon is carbonated. And it burns.
How many melon haters here are tomato haters?
(If you like melon, and just don't like unripened melon, or melon in something else, you're not a melon hater).

I actually thought so too, but I think it is a case of "I'm wearing a rubber glove on my head right now..."
I also dislike tomatoes, but not in sauce, just raw ones.
I'm not sure about cilantro, which either means I don't notice it or I abhor it. Cumin is horrible, though.
At some point I wondered if I was a supertaster, but I think it's actually more about smells. I mean, I know a lot of taste is smell anyway, but that seems to be the sticking point. I can't stand the smell of bananas, but I like banana-flavored things. I had a bite of someone's banana split once -- I was trying to just get the ice cream but accidentally got a bit of banana and didn't realize till I was chewing. And then I realized that since it was cold, there wasn't an odor, so it was fine.
Sadly, supersmeller isn't as appealling a description as supertaster.

I dislike most tomatoes raw, but that's becuase they are almost never true, ripe, in-season tomatoes. I adore the raw heirloom tomoatoes I've tried, though.
I'm fairly melon indifferent. I don't hate it, but I generally see it as filler in a fruit salad--something that could be replaced by more interesting, tasty fruits.
Hey New Yorkers -- how good do you think the odds are that Whole Foods will have kosher-for-passover candy or something? Is there someplace else not on the LES or in Brooklyn I should go instead? I need a hostess gift, and am trying to figure out how much looking I'll need to do.
