Megan, so sorry to hear about what your family is facing.
Apparently my mom's birthday coincided with that of everyone else eating out at Colton's last night. There were no less than 8 tables that got serenaded with banging pots and pans while we were there. We, of course, avoided notifying the staff about it being Mom's birthday so she and I wouldn't have to mar the occasion by causing a bloodbath.
You'll have to tell me if that is just a weird bit of random text or not.
Weird bit of random text. Ooops! Unless the discussion is about to take a dramatic turn.
Totally addictive Flash fame. Don't touch the purple bubbles!
I think "no mind games" means the high school-ish courting rituals, like not returning calls for three days because then they'll know you LIKE them, and all that. Or causally mentioning other women's names in conversation, to create the impression that there's competition. It's hard to list all the behaviors, which is why it gets turned into "mind games." The problem, I think, is that most people (men and women) who do that sort of thing do it out of insecurity, not malevolence, so it'd never occur to them that "no mind games" applies to them.
Plus, it's easy to take it as, "You must be totally honest about your feelings, or lack of feelings, from the first second, and if you do anything that annoys me, I will accuse you of playing mind games." Which might be off-putting.
Anyone want to brave IKEA with me this weekend?
which one? I was kinda thinking about going. I need a new hamper.
IKEA!!!
Late to work today, but luckily what I thought was an 8:30 call was a 9:30, so I didn't miss it.
I need some decaf. I would also like a nap, but my boss says no.
Oh, I'd be going to Whitemarsh. No way in hell could I get to the one at Greenbelt(?) without getting killed by the traffic. But I think I'll be putting it off to some less busy weekend.
Oh yeah -- I totally want to go to IKEA! But instead I have to write my stupid thesis. The boy was planning on going tomorrow, too.
Megan, so sorry for what you, DH and family are going through. Peace and strength to you all.

This. Especially in regards to the high schoolish mind games Strega referred to (and the behaviors are legion). For some reason, I think of sexual players (which is the player I'm assuming ita referred to earlier) as being generally more self-aware.
yeah, crappy weather means packed malls. ugh.
