You know, I just... I woke up, and I looked in the mirror, and I thought, hey, what's with all the sin? I need to change. I'm... I'm dirty. I'm, I'm bad with the... sex and the envy and that, that loud music us kids listen to nowadays.

I think "no mind games" means the high school-ish courting rituals, like not returning calls for three days because then they'll know you LIKE them, and all that. Or causally mentioning other women's names in conversation, to create the impression that there's competition. It's hard to list all the behaviors, which is why it gets turned into "mind games." The problem, I think, is that most people (men and women) who do that sort of thing do it out of insecurity, not malevolence, so it'd never occur to them that "no mind games" applies to them.

Plus, it's easy to take it as, "You must be totally honest about your feelings, or lack of feelings, from the first second, and if you do anything that annoys me, I will accuse you of playing mind games." Which might be off-putting.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

IKEA!!!

Late to work today, but luckily what I thought was an 8:30 call was a 9:30, so I didn't miss it.

I need some decaf. I would also like a nap, but my boss says no.

Oh, I'd be going to Whitemarsh. No way in hell could I get to the one at Greenbelt(?) without getting killed by the traffic. But I think I'll be putting it off to some less busy weekend.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah -- I totally want to go to IKEA! But instead I have to write my stupid thesis. The boy was planning on going tomorrow, too.

Megan, so sorry for what you, DH and family are going through. Peace and strength to you all.

This. Especially in regards to the high schoolish mind games Strega referred to (and the behaviors are legion). For some reason, I think of sexual players (which is the player I'm assuming ita referred to earlier) as being generally more self-aware.

You know when the absolute WORST time to go to IKEA is? When the dorms open for the semester. Man, that was painful. And I didn't even buy anything. Just got swept far enough into the bowels that I had to fight my way to the exit.

Ha. A couple of years ago, I accidentally went to Bed Bath and Beyond that weekend. DISASTER.
