Jayne: Here's a little concept I been workin' on. Why don't we shoot her first? Wash: It is her turn.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Okay, my favorite part of that whole thing is the author's interpretation of copyright law.

"Characters are only copyrightable if their creator draws them or hires an artist to draw them."

WHAT.

The crazy, it burns.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Tep, my exact reaction was "The stupid, it BURNS."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sooo....what are the chances that "AV Paranormal" publishing is not run out of this crazy woman's basement?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Wow. I love how her source for her claim that only drawn characters can be copyrighted is an article that actually just says that it's easier to protect copyright on graphic characters than on literary ones. Like, she went to the trouble of finding an actual legal article, but it's one that doesn't at all say what she says it does.

You think you've read bad fantasy writing?

Oh, no, you haven't.

Gosh.

What does a gibbous moon smell like? The Lovecraft associations make me think "fishy," which doesn't help at all.

I like how he keeps alternating between running one metaphor into the ground and listing completely disparate ones. For each new body part. Including her pubes.
