I started it and couldn't muster up the interest to finish it.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Okay, I feel validated. At least I only got it used? I bought the third one, too, b/c it's set in New Orleans. Maybe I'll put together a box of books to send to Powells.
I had no idea that The Academy sneered at audiobooks.Perhaps it's a misunderstanding and they're actually sneering at her for writing sentences like "But let’s be honest: when it comes to their own reading, nobody doesn’t like ease." Ugh.
I also don't understand why she answers her own question a few paragraphs in, and then keeps asking it.
What Academy are we talking about here?
I didn't love Boneshaker, and didn't get the hype. Very bland IMO.
I liked Boneshaker
Ginger, I know a lot of people who did, which is why I checked it out -- I generally trust my friends' taste, and if they liked it, there's a strong chance I will, too. And that's also why I was bummed to not like it.
I think it would have been a better book if it had stuck with the voice of the mother, but I liked the characters and the story, plus all the jury-rigged survival stuff.
Fun story about Cormac McCarthy copy editing books from physicists.
