I had no idea that The Academy sneered at audiobooks.
Perhaps it's a misunderstanding and they're actually sneering at her for writing sentences like "But let’s be honest: when it comes to their own reading, nobody doesn’t like ease." Ugh.
I also don't understand why she answers her own question a few paragraphs in, and then keeps asking it.
What Academy are we talking about here?
I didn't love Boneshaker, and didn't get the hype. Very bland IMO.
Ginger, I know a lot of people who did, which is why I checked it out -- I generally trust my friends' taste, and if they liked it, there's a strong chance I will, too. And that's also why I was bummed to not like it.
I think it would have been a better book if it had stuck with the voice of the mother, but I liked the characters and the story, plus all the jury-rigged survival stuff.
Fun story about Cormac McCarthy copy editing books from physicists.
I thought Boneshaker was fun, but I like Cherie's urban fantasy novels better. (Bloodshot and ... I am blanking on the sequel.)
Audible just informed me there is a version of Dracula read by Alan Cumming and TIM CURRY. BRB, buying an audiobook.
ha! I was just coming in to post the Cumming/Curry Dracula.
Someone else get a copy of Timeless and finish reading it so I have someone to flail with!
