Mal: Well, you were right about this being a bad idea. Zoe: Thanks for sayin', sir.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Bwah! But one day Jesus is going to make us all zombies with him1!! Which means he's going to...bite us? Was that what all the stuff with communion was about?

Yes! Or something. (You know, I can make a lot of jokes, but I was actually pretty offended by the local Zombie Walk that "happened" to be on Easter morning.....)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, that kinda is timing in poor taste. I mean, I was joking in poor taste too, so I haven't much ground to give, but still.

not your mom's socks.

I was able to interview Gregory Frost the other day about the research he did on 1840s cuisine for an upcoming book. [link] He chipped in a recipe for etouffee at the end.

Man, my library doesn't even have it on order yet. I may have to go ahead and buy it. I'd get the Kindle version, but that isn't available yet.

Hmmm, tempting.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Mind will arrive on Tuesday!

Your petticoat is showing, Jilli. (Imagine my grin)

I feel like the worst churl. After three assaults, I still am unable to get past Chapter one of the first Parasol Protectorate book. I seem unable to find the hook. And it's mildly upsetting because the books seem so beloved by many, and appear to be about things I enjoy.

I may back off and take another run at it, soon.

Ha! I am leaving that typo there.

After three assaults, I still am unable to get past Chapter one of the first Parasol Protectorate book.

Hmmm. Are there things that specifically put you off of it, or is it just that you don't feel compelled to keep reading?
