Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Man, my library doesn't even have it on order yet. I may have to go ahead and buy it. I'd get the Kindle version, but that isn't available yet.

I feel like the worst churl. After three assaults, I still am unable to get past Chapter one of the first Parasol Protectorate book. I seem unable to find the hook. And it's mildly upsetting because the books seem so beloved by many, and appear to be about things I enjoy.
I may back off and take another run at it, soon.

Don't beat yourself up about it, Beverly. I bought the first three as a Kindle package for $10, and I liked them well enough, but not enough to track down the rest.
Not everything is for everybody, even among Buffistas.
