Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Interestingly, google imaging "Finnick" gets a lot of hits on Ian Somerhalder. I'm not against the pretty, but i totally grokked him more of a blonde surfer type, closer to an Eric Dane but not quite.

I pictured Peeta as soft and doughy also, i think relative to the miners of district 12 he was! Way better fed than anyone else in the picture. Except Haymitch. Tho i could get on board with a House-type wiry guy who drinks instead of eating.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Have Hunger Games fans seen this?

I posted that somewhere on the board, P-C, but i don't remember what thread it was. isn't if fabulous? it totally made me cry. as if the description in the book wasn't sad enough.

that was my mental picture of Finnick too, erin. i love Ian, but definitely saw Finnick as a blonde.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

tiggy, you need to close your spoiler tag.

Somerhalder is totally not Finnick. I think he's straight up pretty, but Somerhalder has an air of douche about him that I think doesn't work for the character.

I haven't seen that, but do love that one fannish trailer for the movie (before there was going to be a real one!)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

meara, which one? Because apparently there are a lot. The first one I found was this one, which is not very good.

...I don't know what it is about The Hunger Games and Linkin Park.

(Or maybe it's just dystopias and Linkin Park. When my brother was in junior high, his friend made a movie trailer or something for The Giver for an English class. It also used Linkin Park.)

Suzanne Collins just blew off Boggs's legs. WHY CAN'T WE HAVE NICE THINGS???

On a related note, I've been debating the narrative merit of Peeta's brainwashing as it related to the love triangle, since it appears to make a relationship with Peeta nigh impossible. But with the introduction of the "Real or Not Real?" game, I'm seeing Peeta as a metaphor for the Districts who have been fed misinformation for generations. They, too, have to play that game now.

Also, I am becoming very anxious and worried about President Coin. Are they just trading dictators?

P.S. I am amused that Collins still worked in the Hunger Games with the assault on the Capitol and all the traps. LIKE THE ONE THAT JUST BLEW OFF BOGGS'S LEGS. DAMMIT I LIKE HIM.
