I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

But someone would shelter us, I think.

Totally.

though, honestly, I wasn't enthralled with Athens past the ruins but it does have its charms. And ruins. I adored those

Same here. The islands aren't a bad place to disappear to, and I'm sure I could find a Greek granny who would not only protect her from the kamaki here but would teach her parents a thing or two about life.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Spike's Bitches 30: Going on 13.

This!

My highschool's approach to Career Advice:

Career Advisor: What do you want to be, then?

Me: A writer!

Career Advisor: Hmm...how about a secretary, dear?

Me: .....?

WRT choosing one's further education stuff:

Career Advisor: What do you want to study?

Me: Mythology!

Career Advisor: ...er...I don't think they do that, dear. How about English?

Me: ....kthxby

Back in the day, my Mother's high school conversation went like this:

Career Advisor: So what do you want to do?

Mum: I'd like to travel the world. I thought maybe I could get work on a cruiseship, doing childcare or working in a shop or something like that.

Career Advisor: Is your father an admiral in the Navy?

Mum: ...er. No? He works for the Coal Board.

Career Advisor: Dream on. So have you considered being a secretary?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am feeling quite empowered with this idea now. For them that missed the memo, Raq rawks!

Sleep now. Possible sidetrip to Vermont tabled for discussion tonight.

I am tired, overwhelmed and on the edge of just crying way more than I can deal with when there are people within people distance.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Cass, I'm sure I've missed the story of what your niece is going through that makes you want to niecenap her, but I sympathize. You're a great aunt to want to help spirit her away from a bad situation.

The internets are a strange place. I set out looking for a recipe for Cornish pasties (instead of just making it up as I go, like usual), and end up at Easter Turducken [link] (I think it's chocolate bunny around peeps and a cadbury egg...hit the sale aisle at the drug store now!)

Wow. Gotta love the fact that it's called Slashfood.

(Turducken, incidentally, is something I only know of through your good selves...I think that this particular level of overindulgence hasn't really hit the UK yet. Or if it has, it probably goes by another name. Does 'turd' mean anything in US slang?)

Yes.

Yet another word for excrement.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Well, that page also had a link to something else I did not know existed.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I got the summer job I'd applied for!

Well, not exactly the one I'd applied for. I'd applied to teach 7-10th grade, and they offered me fifth and sixth grades, but still ought to be fun. I guess I'll mostly be teaching pre-algebra, with a little bit of algebra thrown in.
