So, apartment is clean. Girl is enroute. I called in sick to work this morning because I couldn't sleep last night, work up tired as hell, and after yesterday's meeting, my motivation to actually go into work was non-existant.

I was reading a book about the tactics of the Nazi Party in the Weimar Republic last night (which were, of course, mainly about consolidating executive power over legislative power and selling the general populace on the idea of scapegoating minorities) and breaking out in a cold sweat at some of the parallels employed by this new, weird Bushian branch of the Republican Party. Typical liberal stuff, I know, but lately I've been feeling more and more like Kurtz sometime before the story, gazing at the Heart of Darkness while it gazed back at him. I think I need a new job at the very least.
I thnk the moral of the story is, "Come to Canada! We will kill your babies and marry your gays!"
As opposed to "Come to our back-water polygamous town!" where they would do the exact opposite.
That sound you just heard? Was my cousin exploding in rage and frustration in Sioux Falls.
Send her an e and let her know that I'm channeling my gratitude in her direction.

FOX:"All-Out Civil War in Iraq: Could It Be a Good Thing?" >[link]A blogger says, "I seem to remember that any mention of a civil war in Iraq by a Democrat was grounds for being declared a traitor and giving comfort to our enemy just a little while back."
Sarameg, my mind is boggling at the thought of how small the population of SD is. I'm so used to big cities.
That news item makes me ill on behalf of all the women in South Dakota (and, no doubt, eventually the other 49). Thank God both my senators voted against both Roberts and Alito, though this means I can't even call their offices and bitch them out about it, and I know from sorry experience that politicians in other states tend to not give a shit when they get angry calls and letters from outlanders.
