It's possible that he's in the land of perpetual Wednesday, or the crazy melty land, or you know, the world without shrimp.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay, Jen!

Thinking it's Friday on a Wednesday is Bad, but thinking it's Friday on a Wednesday when you had a Monday holiday is Double-Plus Ungood.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Great to hear good news from you, Jen. Take it easy, and let others pamper you if you can.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm glad things are looking good, Jen.

I'm still checking out possible job leads (hope's springing, well, not quite eternal, but possibly hope's shuffling in a zombie-like manner). It's a bad sign when you click on the description of a potential job and start MST3King it by the second sentence. On the otherhand, that would seem to suggest they really do need that communications professional.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I mean, aside from the difficulty he's going to have getting employ anywhere else. Talk about a hostile work environment.

eh, academia is a funny place. Hostility towards "colleagues" is practically the norm, and far from the exception. I've seen shouting matches, and heard of outright threats. Nora's right, plus there's the slippery slope of the fact that he did it from his office (idiot!), so calls in to question activities done at work, etc.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I wish you continued good health, Jen.

Happy Birthday, Lysana!

Timelies, all.

I vaguely remember one of the Bay Area Buffistas works at archive.org but I can't remember his name. If you're reading, I'd love to talk to you about your workplace.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Okay, Buffistas. I am packed. I am checked in for my flight. I am eating breakfast.

The burning question: what might I have forgotten to pack? Find something I left out, win a pony!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Jen, that's wonderful news.

On a shallower note, MSNBC.com got a lot more info than we did on our set visit to Iron Chef! Hmph.
