I just made brownies from the cookbook. Mmm. I can't remember whose recipe it was as my flatmate's run off with the book for the moment, but I promise I'll give compliments later. Many compliments.

I think I have my dinners for the next week decided on already.

Also it's just fabulously put together - well done to the team.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I have a 401K that is fully vested. I contribute 10% of my salary and my company chips in with 0.25 for every $1.00 I put in. I've been doing it for 10 years now (since I was 28).

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm a little smitten with Ben Agosto.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEVERLY!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON B!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I don't put anything into my retirement, as my employers usually put 20% in for me. Yay!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, Yahoo has recently decided I'm a spammer, and it's making me NUTS. I have to do that type-what-you see bullshit for almost every message lately. Do other people have that? Ugh!

information libertarian

I want tommyrot's job. Or just his employers, since I am certain I could not actually do his job.

Thanks everyone for sharing. This is really interesting. I have no SS, since I didn't work until I was 30, because of grad school.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm at a state university and I've been here a shamefully long time so I am vested and I also have a 403B.

I can't remember whether they are matching that or not but we have the State University Retirement System. And I don't believe you get much of anything unless you've been in the system for 20 years.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

My company has a Simple IRA, and they match up to 3% of our salary; we can contribute a maximum of $10,000 a year. Which I do not.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I want tommyrot's employers and ChiKat's 401k.

My company has a Simple IRA

IRA means something very different where you guys come from, methinks.

Also, Zenkitty, I sent you that paper I was working on.
