Would this [link] be a tacky bereavement gift?
I think it is lovely. And would personally appreciate it if given at a time like that. It's simple and will continue to live, which I think it is a key message at a time like that.
Waiting to see if Robin gets steam cleaning advice since I should do that to the carpet here.
Jars, I'd like to read that essay of yours. As an anthropologist interested in the development of agrarian societies.
Oh I'm fairly sure you don't. It's not making a huge amount of sense at the moment. I just can't figure out a useful way to structure it. And it's only two thousand words, which I think makes me an idiot.
I can point out a few papers I'm finding useful, if you'd like?
While I wait for inspiration for my friend's bday, at least I just made a couple of bars of soap.
I would love to rent one of those steam cleaners, but the transportation is a PITA for no-car me.

Walt Whitman would probably approve:
What do you think has become of the young and old men?
And what do you think has become of the women and children?
They are alive and well somewhere;
The smallest sprout shows there is really no death;
And if ever there was, it led forward life, and does not wait at the end to arrest it,
And ceas’d the moment life appear’d.
All goes onward and outward—nothing collapses;
And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier.
Jars, I'd rather wait for you to do all the work for me distill the information.
You could try telling it like a story...
Walt Whitman would probably approve
Nice.
Bamboo has been ordered. Hopefully the poetry snippet I put on the card will read with the right tone and the florist won't include anything that blatantly says "Lucky Bamboo."
bon, what I mean is that there are always cars downstairs at the mall and the Target folks will hold your stuff while you go get one, then come up in the parking garage to the Target doors. Then they will stamp your receipt so you do not have to pay for the parking garage.
mmm - Target indeed. perhaps a group outing?
My local grocery has the steam cleaners so I have lugged one home in my granny cart. I really have no advice except to not overdo the soap or the wetting of the carpet. You can end up with forever sudsy carpet or carpet that takes days to dry.
making soap
so funny, I just finished clenaing up my kitchen and am about to start making candles.
so one freecycle person just came by to pick up stuff. awesome. Now trying to coordinate with craigslist buyer.
This just seems cruel. [link]
