Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage, and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I actually have issues with anything that's scored subjectively, not that I don't enjoy them.

And I did watch Survivor, for the first time this season -- that challenge was bananas. I missed the setup -- was there any "native custom" explanation?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Much strength to you, Jen.

Capoeira can be a sport. Ice dancing less so.

Watching Bones. Man, the preaching and repetition of facts really stands out when you have no emotional investment in the characters. And DB dumped a bunch of weight.

Off to phone meeting.

msbelle--that bites. Does it mess with your work plans?

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I'm with Jesse and DX. Ice Dancing has to go. And I say this as a huge fan of all forms of figure skating.

ION, anyone watch Survivor?

I will be watching it in about half an hour. I'll get back to you after it airs. I'm liking this season a lot.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Biathalon cracks me up -- so practical!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

But I LIKE Ice Dancing!

As long as we're going to have subjective scoring in the Olympics (and I can certainly see the arguments agaisnt it) we should keep the Ice Dancing.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

ooo, msbelle, that sucks. I was all gonna post as to how you must be in the air by now, but no.

Burrell, you remind me of one of the guys on Miami Ink (TV show about tattoo shop) who had a baby, and from then on, whenever he wasn't at work and anyone asked what he was doing, the answer was always "holding baby!"

hrmmm.

Well, I'm not holding the baby right now as it happens. He's crawling around on the floor, refusing to be tired anymore now that the painkillers have kicked in.

But it's dancing! Dancing isn't a sport!

I realize the Extreme DanceSport Ballroom people would disagree.

Where's Alibelle, dang it? I wants to see me a kerfuffle!

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

If ice dancing goes then so should equestrians!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I still don't understand the Biathlon

Biathalon is doing something extremely aerobic, while mixing in intervals of great precision where you want your breath and heartbeat to be as calm as possible. It's very hard to shoot accurately while your heart is pumping a mile a minute.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I fully acknowledge that I'd rather watch the subjective stuff (skating, ski jumping, diving, whatev) -- races of whatever format are only so interesting.
