We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Perkins! Where are you?

Santa Cruz Island, where they have people, and internet, and the Charles Darwin research center and giant tortoises. No laptops though.

Yesterday I went snorkling with sea turtles, sea lions, pelicans, and PENGUINS!

Life is very hard.

Life is very hard.

Pfffft! And yet, I do hope you're having a good time.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oooh! Jealous! How cool.

Did they appreciate the fact that you suffered so much in snorkling with them?

It's so good to read that you're having such a good time.

Excellent. Do they have a library down there? Do they need you to stay so I have an excuse to visit a cool place?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

wildly envious of Perkins, but also glad to see her and glad she's having a good time

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey, Perkins!

The cube next to me is cleared out. We don't know where the guy went. Hopefully to an office, except that's hugely not fair.

In more cryptic co-worker speak, a woman I've barely chatted with said "You got the memo!" as I walked past her. I figure it's a clothing thing (red and black? short skirt? high heeled boots?) but I have no clear idea.

juliana!

I don't remember when I last got to post with you, but I do know it was before you found both a place and a job, so a double Congratulations spiced with "Go you!" on top.

Huh. He got an office. I have no idea how he scored an office, but it's not a good office. It's an office one (namely me) would wonder how I could manage to turn down.

Office intrigue...
