Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Fiona! Everything sounds great.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

B. started kindergarten (i.e. preschool) in September and seems to be enjoying it

OMG where does the time go.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Bah.

Is it possible that cutting back on one's steroid use could cause a splitting headache? I don't get headaches too often, but this one started last evening and has only gotten worse.

If it is steroid withdrawl, then hopefully my taking my one steroid pill this morning will help....

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought the post office was closed yesterday. Yet, stuff I put into the mailbox yesterday afternoon has already reached Netflix. When they're fast, they're fucking fast.

tommy, I sincerely hope that's not the case. Have you tried cold compresses?

I liked Ziyi Zhang's dress, but the colour looked funny. Maybe it's one of those ones that loses in translation. She shoulda just gone with red.

Nope. I don't have one here at work. Although I could walk to the grocery store and get one. But the freezer here is full of ice, so I'd have to get the kind that get cold by themselves.

So, in addition to my steroid pill, I took three ibuprofins, two cups of tea and two glasses of water. The headache does seem to be easing up....

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I thought she looked great in it -- not everyone could pull off that color.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I liked Ziyi Zhang's dress, but the colour looked funny.

It looked chartreuse in the photo I saw (somehow I never saw her on TV all night), and although it didn't particularly unflatter her skin tone, it's a really distracting color. Whereas, Emmy Rossum wore something beige-gray, that made her skin look like recycled paper.

In other dress news, I'm pretty sure Reese Witherspoon's dress did not fit her. It looked too small in the bust.

And I'll renew my objection to high-heeled sandals: they make feet look like chicken claws, and the advent of floor-length dresses must surely be a desperate attempt to hide chicken feet from the general public. Alas!

She looked like she had no boobs at all. I think she must have loaned hers to Scarlett for the evening.

I liked the colour, though I would never be caught dead in it.

information libertarian

Who IS Emmy Rossum, and why is she at awards ceremonies? I mean, she looks nice, but what has she done for us lately? Or ever?

Concur that Reese's dress was oddly-fitting at the top. Since it was vintage, maybe they had no choice.

Also, Charlize Theron usually does well in the frock department (we will not speak of the fake-tanner), but this was an error. I guess the mesh bits were lined, but I could swear I was looking at her belly button, and tall skinny women need to dress to look like they have a waist (I am such a woman, trust me).

Oh good Lord, who put Zhang Ziyi in that colour? No one, repeat NO ONE should ever be allowed to leave the house in anything remotely resembling lime green.

Michelle Williams' dress did nothing for her either.
