We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

do they have a portmanteau preference? If they're going to be a serious celebrity couple, they need to settle on one.

Too bad Filliam H. Muffman is already taken...

Speaking of Comedy Central news parody shows, TDS was on fire tonight!! As Jon pointed out, the Cheney shooting was a gift from heaven for the writers--I didn't stop laughing until the commercial break.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Seriously, that was hilarious.

In Grey's Anatomy news, if you aren't reading the writers' blog, you've got to read the recent stuff from Shonda Rhimes. I heart her. [link]

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

And my TiVo didn't record TDS in the mistaken belief that it was a rerun. I caught most of it anyway, because I was up and around, and can reset for a later showing anyway.

brillig

.45's make some serious noise, with visible flame out the muzzle. It's a shame they're generally too big for me to hold onto with my little hands.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

How loud are guns when you're wearing those earmuff ear protection thingies?

The 22s are quite quiet. The Glock and the revolver were pretty loud through the earmuffs--I wouldn't shoot either of those nor even be in an indoor range with my head in this state. I'm hoping the whole starting really early thing and being outdoor help. Or I'll be out $200.

Our wings are not tired

A gunshot at close range can easily be over 150 dB SPL. Typically shooters wear full ear muffs as well as shooters earplugs. I'd want a total attenuation of at least 60 dB to be at all happy shooting.

Kristen, I didn't take the 210--was it kerfucked?

Babies may have abstract numerical sense - US study

Reservoir Dogs actor Chris Penn died accidentally from an enlarged heart and the effects of a combination of various medications, according to autopsy and toxicology tests

US TV network ABC is pulling Commander In Chief off its schedule even earlier than anticipated, due to poor ratings. The Geena Davis drama was scheduled to go on hiatus on February 28, but network executives decided to make the break effective immediately. ABC's scheduling chief Jeff Bader insists the network was trying to do "what we think is best for its long-term prospects." Bader says, "With this new schedule, (Commander) will return with a healthy run of seven straight episodes in the spring."

They love the word depressed, don't they:

Actor George Clooney is depressed he managed to pile on so much weight so quickly for his role as CIA operative Bob Barnes in Syriana. The 44-year-old grew a beard for the role and packed on 35 pounds for the political thriller, which has won him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He says, "I put it on so quickly, I was anxious to get it off. The depressing thing was that I could put on 35 pounds in 30 days."

At least they give you the quote so you know they're on crack.

A suspicious device, that looked like a bomb, rolled off a truck and landed on the side of the freeway so they were closing a large section of the road.

Turned out to be an old, inactive weapon of some sort.

Kristen, did a bigheaded EMT run out and have to be replaced with an unfed dreamy medical student to hold it steady?

Just in case.

Damn, that's a big deal. Wasn't reflected on my bits of the 118, though.

It seemed to have confused the shit out of everyone. Apparently, it looked like an old WWII bomb. Even the bomb squad didn't know what the hell to do with it.

Finally, someone who works at the DoD saw it on the news and called his boss who went out and pronounced it a dud.
