Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It has stopped snowing here, but there is a bit of it on the ground. We're supposed to go to a concert this afternoon, but I guess we'll need to check that it's still on.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's KristinT's birthday, isn't it? If so, Happy Birthday, Kristin!

I need to find some misplaced motivation so I can get showered and dressed up in time to make the brunch at Yia Yia's before all the churches let out. If I've been forced to skip two evening meals in a row, I can at least splurge and spend too much on brunch at a semi-swanky eatery. I believe mimosas figure prominently in my near future.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I cannot believe how much snow there is outside!

I have to go into work this evening too.

I got emails yesterday saying the band I used to be in cancelled their Saturday night concert, and today saying they also cancelled their Sunday concert. Definitely check, Sheryl!

Yay Nillyness! A blind date, eh? I've never actually been on one...hope it goes well for you!

Swouncing

I'm about to do math.

What kinds of math?

A blind date, eh? I've never actually been on one...

I've never been on a first date that wasn't "blind".

I'm stopping the JewishMommy who is living inside me from telling people in snowed-places to make sure to bundle up, take spare socks, stuff like that. That InnerJewishMommy fights like she's learned the InnerMommy version of krav, but I try to keep her in check.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My boom story isn't very exciting - we heard a loud boom, looked out the window, and saw that someone going way too fast had rear-ended a parked car and slammed it up onto the sidewalk and into a phone pole. Totalled both cars, but no one injured. It was a woman in her mid-fifties, not the sort you'd expect to be speeding recklessly down a residential street. And that was the only car parked on that side; it was as if she'd aimed for it.

I have a small-boom story too - one day when I was a teen, my mother and I were washing dishes and ball lightning appeared in the kitchen right over our heads. It made little crackle-boom sound, dashed a few feet leaving a lightning trail, and disappeared. My mom and I just stood there with our mouths open. It wasn't even raining that day. Weirdest thing. Like a living thing that just dropped by: "Hi, y'all! Washing dishes? Boring. Bye!"

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just caught a Nancy Giles on CBS complaining that women are naked too much. Does she have a rep? Is she a prude? I mean, the answer to why is "There's a paying audience." She seemed to think it was icky, but most importantly wasn't advocating more male nudity.

Nilly! I hope it goes well.

Happy birthday, Kristin!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck with the date, Nilly. I was actually just talking about you and dating the other night, in a kind of cultural comparison conversation.

Good luck getting to work, Tom and bon bon! I have to HAVE TO do a lot of work today, but I'm not going anywhere. Well, I guess I'll have to go for a walk to see the snow, but that's about it.

I can't stop playing Bejeweled--I'll be hearing "Go!" and "Level Up!" in my sleep.

Trijinx was my problem last night -- I totally woke up thinking about it. SO BAD.

Happy birthday, Kristin!

What kinds of math?

Pre-Calculus. Graphing, lines, slopes, etc.

Have fun on the date, Nilly!
