Angel: Just admit it: you think you're gonna ride in, save the day, and sweep Buffy off her--Spike: Like you're not thinking the same thing. Angel: I'm already seeing somebody. Spike: What, dog girl?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

He plugged it in?

NO! The connectors were not alligned with the switch and they were dirty. SO THERE!

Yes, Burrell, it is going to be a good weekend.

I got a call from my BFF, she is now sick, but it sounds like a completely different sick than what I had, so hopefully not my fault.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Do we have an olympic spoiler policy?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay for msbelle's fixed TV!

Yay for Hil's internship!

I don't want to do work today, but I must. It would probably be more effective to go down to school and work there, but ugh. That just sounds so unappealing.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Do we have an olympic spoiler policy?

Don't spoil anything that hasn't aired in the US yet.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay, Hil! May it be interesting AND fun for you!

I'm now at work, waiting for coworker to show up. She thought about ten of now, so any minute and I can get to work!

In the meantime, I'm catching up here. I did get out to the Super Stop & Shop (you really have to emphasize how big it is) which while it was busier than usual for a Saturday morning, wasn't crazed... yet. I got all my favorite blizzardy foods, plus enough cat food that if we get snowed in for two weeks, the cats will continue to be fed in the manner they've been accustomed to.

Heh. When the 1992 Summer Olympics were in Barcelona, one of the US swimmers, Joe Hudepohl, was from Cincinnati. I was still in college, and that summer I had an internship at a Catholic magazine run by Franciscan friars.

The individual sports competitions were only aired during prime time, and on the weekends, even though, given the time change from Barcelona to here, they were taking place around mid-morning or so, IIRC. I remember the 6:00 news was always really careful to not spoil the medal count, or if they were going to talk about the Olympics, they said, really emphatically, that they were ABOUT TO TALK ABOUT THE MEDAL WINNERS, SO LEAVE THE ROOM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

One of the Franciscan friars who worked at the magazine where I interned was one of Joe Hudepohl's uncles. When the US men's swim team won gold, one of the family members must have called right away, because Bro. Hudepohl came running through the office, yelling at the top of his lungs, "Joey won the gold! Joey won the gold!" Apparently spoiler policies don't apply to Franciscan friars whose nephews just won gold.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Does anyone have a link to ita's wet men site? Googling just gives me hard core porn.

Alright, so any franciscan friars with contenders in the family on the board? No? Good.

I'm watching the opening ceremonies from last night. They're showing pagentry stuff. Miraculously, Bob Costas is not yapping about the symbolism.

Oh dear, spoke too soon, Bob just explained hearts to us. But it really is relatively restraine dfor him.
