My old house is there. We bought it for $45,000 in 1995, sold it for $67,000 in 2000, and Zillow says it's worth $108,000 now. I would say $80,000 would be a lot more realistic. Oddly Zillow says it is a 3 BR, 2 BA house, but it is a 3 BR, 1 BA.

My mom's house isn't listed, but I thought to check out the house I grew up in. I know that Dad and Mom bought it for $35K back in 1969, and according to zillow, it's $174K now. Not bad for a 1500 sq.ft. 3BR/2BA ranch house with a 1-car garage.
Good lord, Kathy -- they have my parents' neighbors' 2171 sq. ft. 3 bedroom at $615K.
This Times article is great, written in a hard-boiled noir style.
Check out the picture of the cat in this article! He looks like he is winking!
Apparently I have two homes valued at over a million on my street. There are only 8 houses on my street.
That article was great.

I was gonna say he looks more supremely unimpressed with the canine adulation....
Huh. I finally remembered my brother's address and decided to appease my long-lived curiosity over how valuable was his house. It's a big house and yard (1.3 acres) in a very nice suburb in southern NJ, and they had an Eagles player living down the street, so I always guessed it was pushing $500K. According to Zillow, it's only $278K. Now I feel better (I was worried about how they could afford an expensive place on their salaries, and yes, I am a nosy sister who doesn't have the nerve to ask them about their finances in person!).
Last night, Zillow told me it thought I could get 300k for my house.
OTOH, it told me that mine is worth roughly half what the owner is asking (which in turn is 20K less than anything the same size in the 'hood).
Bye!
