In a condo building you buy a unit in the building and have a share in the common areas. In a co-op you co-own the entire building. That is why it is more difficult to get into a co-op, because the other owners depend on your contribution. I think they are analogous to a partnership vs. corporate shareholder.

My cousin studied Arabic for her BA, as well as used it during her military service, so she's pretty fluent in it. She changed all the messages on her cell-phone to be in Arabic, which is so strange because even the numbers look different than the ones we use.
