There's a video here [link] which I haven't watched yet. (I suppose the quote could be a jokey, fake-quote.)

The TDS people aren't going to have to work very hard this week.

Cool chart of real-world Hybrid mileage.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

But if they're not reminded about it all the time in the newspapers and in stories, they sometimes forget.

The first rule of Illegal Wiretapping Club is - you do not talk about Illegal Wiretapping Club.

That's an interesting chart. I was just reading an article that criticized the new Accord Hybrid because it actually gets 4 mpg less than before the redesign.

My new Civic (non-hybrid) gets about 31 mpg with the combined city/highway driving I do daily, and when I was driving back from my mom's at Thanksgiving got 41 mpg on the turnpike.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

In other surveillance news, a line from one of my other boards:

Personally I like winning, so I could care less. If Osama Bin Laden could get lefties out, he'd be on my team.

I think Alberto Gonzales is buying season tickets to the Nats even now!!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Cue music and Christian Bale in full Bat regalia: "I wish I could quit you."

Ahahahaha!!!

Also, Bruce/Harvey is practically canon anyway.

Or perhaps that's just in my mind.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I was just reading an article that criticized the new Accord Hybrid because it actually gets 4 mpg less than before the redesign

Isn't it supposed to rev faster and all that jazz? I remember reading about using hybrid technology not to make cars less gas-hungry, but peppier on the road.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

George Washington was MAD for wiretapping.

And I just acted out putting on mascara and figure I'd do about 15 strokes total.

I just made an Actual Meal for lunch! Chicken marinated in chipotle Tabasco, with broccoli cooked with garlic and crushed red pepper. Yummers.

According to the article (I wish I could find it now!), Honda defended the lower mpgs on the older design because they said they were exchanging mileage for horsepower. However, with the developments in hybrid technology over the past few years, hybrid advocates were hoping that Honda would have improved the mpgs while preserving the pep in the redesign, but I guess not.

In Daily Show news, People has the baby announcement. I loved this bit:

Last October, while appearing on David Letterman's Late Show, Stewart expressed some reservations about parenting a daughter. "I don't know that much about women," said Stewart. "A boy child, I feel like I'll know how to deal with it if he has a problem. I'll just be able to say to him, 'Well, repress it,' and he will hopefully swallow that, as I have. And then you figure you have 30 years before it comes out over dinner where somebody spills the gravy and then you're like 'I hate you!'

"A girl, she's going to want me to have tea with her and her panda. Like, what am I going to do with that?" he added.
