I thought about notifying law enforcement, but at that point the guy had yet to do anything illegal.
Probably not true: the woman they were featuring resisted the constant emails to wire the money to the guy, but deposited the check - took three weeks for it to come back as counterfeit. I can't imagine that's not illegal. Or had your guy not sent it yet?
So people actually send a refund check without cashing the one they received first? I guess there is one born every minute.

Yeah, that's kind of the whole point of them, isn't it?
Sometimes the cashier's checks are so well counterfeited, that they even fool the bank (for a little while).

Oh, sumi, the puppymill rescue dogs are breaking me into little bits. Poor little creatures. Stupid humans (the puppymill breeders, not the rescuers, who are excellent humans).
I'm just happy that those poor dogs got taken out of those bad situations.
