So people actually send a refund check without cashing the one they received first? I guess there is one born every minute.
Well, some people think that a cashier's check or money order is "as good as cash."

Yeah, that's kind of the whole point of them, isn't it?
Sometimes the cashier's checks are so well counterfeited, that they even fool the bank (for a little while).
Probably not true: the woman they were featuring resisted the constant emails to wire the money to the guy, but deposited the check - took three weeks for it to come back as counterfeit. I can't imagine that's not illegal. Or had your guy not sent it yet?
Nope, he hadn't sent anything....

Which is how the scam succeeds as often as it does.
Oh, sumi, the puppymill rescue dogs are breaking me into little bits. Poor little creatures. Stupid humans (the puppymill breeders, not the rescuers, who are excellent humans).
I'm just happy that those poor dogs got taken out of those bad situations.
Can't even look at that story. Just can't.
People steal blank cashier's checks (and the machines to impress them, too), so counterfeits are often impossible to tell without going through actual records.
ita, incoming to velvetedge.
sumi, A friend of mine, who writes for a major newspaper was just saying last night that he wanted a 'purebred puppy'. I'm SO sending him that link.
