How did your brain even learn human speech? I'm just so curious.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Project Runway: I agree that the judges weren't talking about "regular" people, just humans in general -- or, at least, the person they were supposed to be designing for. Like how Santino's skating dress could NEVER work for an actual, you know, skater. He has been much more restrained in the past couple of weeks.

Also, Dan's got to win, right?

Also also, I love Tim Gunn now more than ever.

What is even happening?

The name Tim Gunn takes me to a rpf place I just never want to go. You made a bear. Take it back. Take it back.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Morning, all.

There's also a "style" article today about skinny people trying to be less skinny that is just -- headscratcher. I gather it's mainly men trying to grow man-breasts, but, like, is the word "lean" not okay any more? Lanky? Slim?http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/02/fashion/thursdaystyles/02Fitness.html

I mean, it makes me laugh to see men succumb to the same body-manipulation trends that women deal with, but -- WTF!

I just want to mail them all photos of Bronson Arroyo (6'5", 190).

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I couldn't get to Project Runway last night. It's so frustrating not to be able to read the whitefont!

This is from about 70 posts ago but:

And what of the Dr. Katz DVDs? Won't somebody think of the children?

In a recent interview H. Jon Benjamin noted that he was recording commentaries for some episodes.

It was a radio show with a readily accessible podcast-- the Sound of Young America.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I mean, it makes me laugh to see men succumb to the same body-manipulation trends that women deal with, but -- WTF!

It's a pretty constant thing.

I know I hang out in circles where strength is almost fetishized, but although men don't have as much pressure as women do, they do have it, and it's never pretty.

There are rules about what makes a man a man too. Just that they're not as often (or as harshly?) penalised for breaking them.

I had an argument about my race yesterday. Guy told me I wasn't black. He seemed to believe it at the start, too. I rounded it off by calling myself Jamaican, and not white, and he seemed to understand that I have a little more experience in the arena of who the hell I am than he did, and he changed the tone of the discussion.

How weird. Not weird like the people who think I'm Asian, but still weird.
