Am I supposed to be changing my clothes a lot? Is that the helpful thing to do?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I see congress is already helping to fulfill Bush's vision for a more hopeful nation with fewer poor and elderly.
Yes, by killing them off more quickly through stepping up neglect.

I saw a bit of The Tonight Show last night and they were doing the Jaywalking thing where he asks people on the street about well-known stuff and they can't get the right answer. Anyhow, he got onto Charles Lindberg and was asking someone who was the first person to fly across the Atlantic. Well, Charles Lindberg wasn't the first person to fly across the Atlantic. The first non-stop flight was by a couple of British guys in a Vickers Vimy bomber. But that wasn't the first flight either, there was a multi-stage flight by a group of NC-4 Curtiss seaplanes. Kinda ironic given the point of the segment.

To be fair, that bill isn't only about cutting health care. It will also cut back on child support payment enforcement and student loans.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Write a letter, Gud. It's only fair.

Always Anti-fascist!

Bastards. You call and nag and they still go with their rich friends. Blah.

Hookers and horses: made me think "Oh. Somebody else here started watching "Deadwood"!

This is dumb, but what night is "House" on?Compared to him, I am a ray of sunshine in a darkened room. I think I love him. Kind of like I love Lewis Black. But House is prettier.

I tell people "Northern Exposure" was my first fandom, but I think it was "Hill Street" honestly. Maybe I feel a little weird about how early the crime junkie surfaced.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Project Runway: I agree that the judges weren't talking about "regular" people, just humans in general -- or, at least, the person they were supposed to be designing for. Like how Santino's skating dress could NEVER work for an actual, you know, skater. He has been much more restrained in the past couple of weeks.

Also, Dan's got to win, right?

Also also, I love Tim Gunn now more than ever.

What is even happening?

The name Tim Gunn takes me to a rpf place I just never want to go. You made a bear. Take it back. Take it back.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Morning, all.

There's also a "style" article today about skinny people trying to be less skinny that is just -- headscratcher. I gather it's mainly men trying to grow man-breasts, but, like, is the word "lean" not okay any more? Lanky? Slim?http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/02/fashion/thursdaystyles/02Fitness.html

I mean, it makes me laugh to see men succumb to the same body-manipulation trends that women deal with, but -- WTF!

I just want to mail them all photos of Bronson Arroyo (6'5", 190).
