Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Cashmere! Happy birthday, Olivia Rose!

I have no comment on head injuries, other than the fact that my old boss was previously the manager of a group home for people with brain injuries, which was the source of most of her best stories, as well as (I assume) her most annoying trait: every so often she'd tell you something Really Slowly And Clearly To Make Sure You Understood, as if you had a brain injury.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's kind of weird IMing with someone two cubes over. But I do know his LOLs are literal. That's some comfort.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ooh! The babysitting has begun? How cool. Alibelle's a magic fit.

She's great, it's true. They watched a princess video.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

In one of my first jobs in LA, I worked for a Case Manager who worked with a lot of TBI patients. Lots of good stories which were a result of TBI resulting in a lack of impulse control.

I need to call Alibelle this week. Gr.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My favorite was when people would start freaking out at work, and she'd start with, "This is not an emergency. An emergency is a resident who got on some random bus and doesn't know how to get home. An emergency is a resident up on the roof. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FUNDRAISING EMERGENCY."

She doesn't have any other symptoms, though. And she's running around, playing. Joe's taking her to the doctor at 5:15.

[insert working mother's guilt here]

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Hey, she has a parent with her. That's the important thing. Well, that and her getting well.
