What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

So not watching the SotU. Instead I'll work a little more and then go home and watch Bleak House or walk the dog.

Yay Tivo and iPod!

I burnt out on listening to politician pontificate around the time I was old enough to vote. I'll read it, but I won't listen to it because usually even when I agree with it, it makes me queasy. Mostly. I caved for the Obama speech, but that was unique. Oh, and there was that incident where I had to listen to Hyde during impeachment because I couldn't get to the radio to shut it off, but it resulted in me making a holy mess of the kitchen. I started slamming shit around.

I think I'll go call my brother instead.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I haven't watched the SotU since Smirky McChimpface took office, and I don't intend to start now. I already know the gist of it: "Bend over, kiss more of your civil liberties goodbye, and take it like a man, America! Women, please check your uterus at the door. It will be returned at the end of the night, with a zygote implanted -- enjoy the next nine months! Now let's roll! Who brought the blow?"

Ann, that's a ferret.

Saw 2001: A Space Travesty earlier this evening. (Thumbnail review: An hour and a half of silly fun for fans of Airplane and Police Squad. Apropos of the conversation, a couple of lines from the movie.

("Bill Clinton" is on stage, playing a saxophone.)
"Madonna": I love the way he blows his horn.
"George Herbert Walker Bush": My son likes to toot, too.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I called my mom at the second the SoTU started and when I picked up the phone to dial, there she was. She had called me at the exact same second, which makes sense, since NEITHER of us are gonna watch the speech. I am watching one of my favorite shows that no one but me likes, Dirty Jobs on Discovery.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm watching the 1940 movie of Busman's Honeymoon, which is called Haunted Honeymoon -- shades of Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. I'm sure all the people in it are good, but the casting is just so wrong! No one is right.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Gilmore Girls, especially the last 10 minutes, was incredible. I'm amazed at the amount of dialogue they have to learn each week, but this one takes the cake.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

My brother is going to be fostering a dog! He picks it up tomorrow, it is a 3 year old chow. FUN!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd watch the SotU Address, if only I were more confident in my skill at voodoo.

I actually thought the age makeup was the weakest part of the film. It came close to breaking my suspension of disbelief a few times.

I thought it was decent enough up through the "I wish I knew how to quit you!" scene (Jake's moustache was trés unflattering, but didn't ping me as fake), but Heath mysteriously regressed about 15 years when visiting Mr. and Mrs. Twist. Grief: the new botox.

The sky in Lightning Flats had to be enhanced... you don't get aerial vistas like that outside of Montana. Or Heaven.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thanks for the semi-colon help earlier-- I had to dash quickly to finish the edits and make it to the theatre.

Also, yay for fostered doggies!
