Miss Trudy! Hello, fabulous. I miss you more than my luggage.
What's happening?
I am eating apple pie and drinking Coke. Breakfast of Champions.
Also, I think Bill Frist may be touched. Something ain't right with that man.
I am trying to make myself get out of bed, but bed is warm and soft and smells of the Lush Ruby Slippes bath I took last night. Why should I eat stuff? Clean stuff? Put on clothes instead of being nakey? I have no good reasons to do those these things.
Here, here.
Unfortunately, I'll have to get dressed some time today. Raul and I are going to visit a friend in the hospital. Which would be sad were it not for the fact that this particular friend has turned his hospital stay into an endless lounge party. He swears that his hospital room is more fabulous than the apartment he was in the process of getting kicked out of before he got sick. He's been there since just after New Year's. We have a sneaking suspicion that he's just hanging around for the cute male nurses and snazzy Chelsea location now.
I think I love your friend.

I could have told you this.
The boy ain't right.
He is good times. However, I am warm and full of pie, so not so much inclined to go out. Ah well. Maybe there will be cocktails.
ETA: He meaing my friend. Not he meaning Frist. Frist makes me want cocktails for a different reason.
Eldest son is sore throaty and feverish. Hit him suddenly during his basketball game yesterday. There are a number at his school with the same stuff. Although he is never ever sick it's a relief that he is not a bad patient at all. He does ache all over though, poor baby, and that is a whole lot of body to ache. 2 milestones last week. Made it to 14 years old and 6'3".
He has consumed a couple of large bottles of gatorade in the last 24. Not interested in food.
I saw a very neat but rather sad play last night. "Nine Parts of Desire" (::waves at Sparky::), which is a one-actress show about women in Iraq. One of the more interesting characters she plays is a female artist who allows herself to be raped many times by the men in Saddam's administration in order to gain access to power. This way she gets her work into the museums and so forth.
Another of the characters was a doctor in Basra, who said that Iraq has been suffering from many many more cancers and birth defects in the last few years -- she thought it was from all the toxins in the soil and water from spent ammunition from the war.
Excellent play, great acting, awesome set. Really rather sad, though.
